About ATWA Mauritius
Our story, mission and the people who make it possible.
Organization History
Founded by a group of dedicated Tamil families in Mauritius, the Ayalaga Thamilar Welfare Association (ATWA) was born out of a shared vision — to keep our culture vibrant, our language alive, and our community connected across generations.
Over the years, ATWA has grown into a trusted organization serving Tamils across the island. Through cultural programs, welfare initiatives, and educational efforts, we continue to honour our heritage while contributing meaningfully to the social fabric of Mauritius.
Today, ATWA stands as a bridge between tradition and modernity, between elders and youth, and between the Tamil diaspora and our cultural roots.
